The wildlife makes this trip. The boat adds little

点评：It's hard to give a single score for this six hour trip past Staffa and landing on Lunga. I'm very glad we did this day out: the birds and seals were fantastic. The boat ride wasn't. The boat felt very crowded and moving around to see anything was difficult. The commentary was short on information and on detail on the wildlife. The sound quality was too poor anyway. The two young crew members were lovely, dealing with the seasick and answering direct questions but there were a lot of people on the boat and little chance to get info from them. I've been on much more engaging and informative trips. For instance, everyone was piling to one side of the boat to see Fingals cave so just mentioning that the boat will turn around and sail back so you will get a chance to see it from the other side of the boat too would have been reassuring. This boat trip felt like it was just an uncomfortable ferry service out to the islands with a slow sail past Staffa on the way out and then past the seals on the way back. Take lunch, wrap up warm, don't expect to learn anything from the commentary and you'll enjoy yourselves.
