Museum and gardens are great, but not the cafe

点评：We live locally. The museum and gardens are great. This is a review of the cafe. Before the cafe changed to Colicci in 2024 it was also great. Since Colicci took over, the cafe looks smarter, but the food is expensive. More significantly, the customer service has been poor on several occasions. For example, on 7 May 2025, we visited at lunchtime. There was no queue and three people behind the counter. To start with the staff ignore out presence and keep talking to themselves. Then there is no hello, no smile, no eye contact, we have to repeat our order because the person serving us is not listening, and then there is no thank you when we pay £17 for two sandwiches and one coffee. Perhaps the thought is that customers will come regardless of the customer service so why bother? Well, as we live locally, we know Forest Hill has other cafes with friendly staff (eg the Teapot and St David) and if the poor customer service continues local people will be go there instead.
