South West Coast Path National Trail的点评
点评：Starts / finishes in Minehead.
We attempted two walks hindered by lack of signage and poor public transport.
Day one walked from Minehead to Portlock Weir.
The walk in part is poorly signed,overgrown and has steep slopes almost ravine like with loose stone.
There is a local bus service running between Portlock Weir and Minehead,not that frequent and only 16 seats!
We just made it for the 15.32 service,we are regular walkers, but with such steep terrain were slowed down and after a 10.30 start,this was in the end a route march. We enjoyed all of 20 minutes @ Portlock Weir which looked very pretty.
No picnic literally until back on Minehead esplanade !!
Day two,walked from county gate car park to Lynmouth,poor public bus options,other than the coaster,at disproportionate prices for a single ticket. They only want to sell 'all day tickets'.
Not supporting a one way walker short local ticket.
Some good views but path very over grown in parts.
This path is clearly not managed by either Exmoor National Park or Somerset Council.
So whilst in Lynmouth we went into the Exmoor Visitor Centre for a 'chat'.!
Lots of excuses as expected,but agreed probably unchecked in almost 20 years.
Go at your peril.
Lots of other paths more accessible with more inspiring views,and better transport links than this.
