点评:Today, after strong recommendation form a Brother in Law - we at last visited this wee museum. I say ‘wee’ but it’s a bit of a Tardis in that it’s big inside. Covering the complete history of the Gordon Highlanders. Even though we are both ‘fae Aiberdeen’ we had never been. We travel up from England every year but never went. Assuming it was going to be a bit dated and pokey. Quite the opposite in fact. It’s modern and bright with a big café and fascinating displays and video stories throughout. Thankfully one of the guides (Bert Innes) made a point of masking if we would like a tour of the WWI Trench Warfare display. Obviously we did. And what a great insight into the horrors of this awful scenario we had. Ten minutes in poor Bert had to re-wind back to the start of the tour when a group of new tourists arrived - unfazed he carried on as before and of course we enjoyed hearing them stories twice. Great stuff. Anyway we would like to express our appreciation to Mr.Innes and the cheerful staff for their clear devotion to their job (voluntary?) making our day a very memorable one. Thanks again!
