点评:This may be a relatively small park ( only 1 hectare ) compared to others in Aberdeen - but it’s a natural treasure-trove of beautifully landscaped trees, shrubs, plants & flowers. It used to belong to the Johnston House Estate, but was gifted to the city in 1936. There’s a main pathway around a central pond, with a curved , Monet-esque , wrought-iron bridge over it - that’s very popular for staged photo-shoots. Benches are strategically placed to enjoy the lovely surroundings , and there are other little routes leading to rockeries, streams, waterfalls & a children’s play area. There’s also a poignant memorial to the 16 men who were victims of the Super Puma helicopter crash in the North Sea in 2009. As you can imagine the pond and trees attract many species of birds here, and feeding the ducks with bird seed is a guilty pleasure. This really is a charming oasis of natural calm in the western city suburbs.
