点评:We wanted to visit the gardens for the tulips, but because of an event we had to have castle tickets too. One of our group uses a wheelchair. Most of the paths are gravel, and on slopes, so we found it quite hard work to push. Some areas are hard to get to without using steps. When visiting with a wheelchair, check beforehand to avoid disappointment for areas you can't access. The gardens past the cafe have a fairly narrow path, so though accessible, people had to keep moving out of our way.
The castle itself, again check the website first as lots of it isnt accessible in a wheelchair. They have a lift to the first level. Then a 2nd lift, which is very very narrow, and many chairs won't fit. For us the user is able to walk a bit so walked into the lift, we folded the chair, then once us 2 and the staff member were in, I was squashed against the member of staff, was a bit awkward.
In one of the rooms they have installed a lift as there are stairs. Oddly after the ramp, and a bit too close, is a stand with a glass cabinet display on it, I'm sure some chairs will crash into it.
We enjoyed what we saw, but had to miss out some. The chapel entrance has lots of scratches as its small and has a turn so very hard with the chair.
The staff were great, very quick to be there when needed, we never had to wait or look for anyone, which was fantastic.
They do have some of their own wheelchairs that visitors can use, I would guess they are narrower than ours.
