点评:I visited this museum with high hopes having seen it on the tv when Susan Calman visited, but unfortunately was a bit disappointed. Our grandaughter is studying the Industrial Revolution so I hoped this would help.We had an interesting chat near the beginning with a helper, about the flannel for the Guards uniforms being made locally and about children being injured so often working with the machines, but that was all. None of the machines were working and there was nobody in any of the rooms to answer questions or demonstrate anything, just limited written information. The children enjoyed finding the hidden Lego models and felted birds, but that hardly helped our knowledge of the history of industrial Leeds. Also a large area was shut with no explanation why.
It all just seemed a bit sad, that this was the best Leeds could do to demonstrate the amazing story of the inventions and industries that used to be here. I realise museums are well down on priority for spending at the moment but surely some improvements could be made.

这一切似乎有点令人难过,这是利兹能做的最好的事情,以展示曾经在这里出现的发明和工业的惊人故事。我意识到博物馆目前在支出方面远远落后于其他支出,但肯定可以做出一些改进。
