Leeds Industrial Museum at Armley Mills的点评
点评：It is some time since we visited this museum, and publicity on an additional one day display of Meccano and Steam models influenced us to visit again. The car park is basic and requires a c120m virtually level walk to the entrance. The entry fees are not excessive and on arrival we were provided with a site map and advice, by the friendly reception staff. Unfortunately, the Meccano exhibition, whilst interesting, was very small, and there was only one model steam traction engine arriving as we were departing. Nevertheless, we continued around the rest of the museum over four floors. This included the permanent and some shorter term exhibitions. Some of the areas, particularly outside, cannot be accessed at present due to building renovation work. The museum as the name suggests is aimed at the industrial and some other history of the area. It is important that the building and equipment is preserved to assist future generations in actually seeing and understanding the historical past. The large scale machinery is impressive, with good information boards, but would benefit from some demonstations where possible. This may depend on the availability of knowledgeable staff or volunteers. Those that we did see were very approachable and helpful. There is also a small shop and cafe.
