Full price but only a few rooms on the ground floor open

点评：Before we could pay at the desk we were accosted by a NT volunteer who gave us the hard sell trying to persuade us to become members. He was very pushy. We paid the entrance fee of £15 each but it wasn't until we entered the house that we were told that only a few rooms on the ground floor were open. There were a lot of blank walls and some of the portraits which were hanging were described as "probably" named members of the family who used to live there, so who knows if it was them or not. Our visit ended up being much shorter than we expected and we left feeling ripped off. I've just checked the website again and on the main page it says nothing about the house only being partially open. It's not the first time where we have gone to a NT property and found that although the full price was charged, the rooms available to view were very limited - I remember a similar disappointing visit to Chastleton House a few years ago. It has put me off going to National Trust properties again.
