Castle Howard in Spring
霍华德城堡的点评
点评：Having a 5 day “staycation” based in York we drove up to Castle Howard on a fine bright May morning. We arrived quite early around 09:00, passed into the ticket hall and paid our entrance fee, which although quite steep, can and should be mitigated by booking online.
We walked through the entrance courtyard and took a stroll the walled garden, to be fair this early in the year it isn’t at its best, but pretty enough as it is.
We then moved in to the Atlas Fountain, sadly not in full flow but marvellous statuary nonetheless. As the house and restaurant were still waking up we continued along the South Lake and ambled up to the Temple of the Four Winds.
On to the “Big House” and as one would imagine for one of the great houses of England it wasn’t shy in showing its full splendour.
