Magical day out at Harewood
哈伍德庄园的点评
点评：We really enjoyed our day out at the charming Harewood House and gardens. The setting is beautiful — the grandeur of the house, the precision of the gardens, and the many scenic walking routes made for a really memorable day out.
To our surprise, the house was hosting an exhibition marking the 250th birthdays of the novelist Jane Austen and painter J. M. W. Turner. We got to see some of Turner's paintings of the house plus some first editions of Austen's novels which belong to the Harewood collection. The exhibition runs until 19 October 2025.
There's so much to see at Harewood. The gardens in front of the house are decorated with beautiful flowers. The Himalayan gardens were a highlight for me and a great adventure. The walled garden was also a treat.
We loved our day here. There's so much to do and even better to experience on a summer's day. The area is really accessible with plenty of toilets and a shuttle bus from the main house to the gates.
The pictures don't do Harewood justice — you have to visit for yourself!
Tip: if you travel by bus you can get 50% off admission. We took the number 36 bus from Leeds bus station and the stop is Harewood Arms. From there it's about 20 minutes by foot to the house.
