点评：We explored that beautiful but pretty unfriendly gorge in our SUV in mid-August. My wife and I.
To be honest, I wouldn't like to return there. Winding, narrow, and menacing, with a turbulent river rushing down through the ravine.
There was a horrible tragedy there 21 years ago. Mudflow 150 metres high obliterated everything and everybody on its way when it suddenly surged like an avalanche down the valley at a speed of 190 km/h. More than 100 people were buried alive. No one escaped that hell, including a famous Russian film director.
We crossed that valley in our car. It's impossible to describe Mother Nature's rage. Two decades passed, but its ramifications are still obvious: deserted houses, rivers that changed their course, timid young trees reaching up to the sun. It takes hours to destroy and years to heal.
Roads are different there: asphalt, gravel, dirt; even, bumpy, challenging. But quite vincible for a sound car (in good weather!).
