Disappointing Animal Conditions – Only Suitable for a Quick Visit with Kids

点评：I visited Montekristo recently and, unfortunately, left feeling quite disheartened. While the play area for children is surprisingly good and well-equipped, it’s hard to enjoy the visit fully when the welfare of the animals is clearly not up to standard.
Many of the enclosures were visibly dirty, with multiple piles of excrement and very little sign of regular cleaning. Some of the animals, including lions and tigers, looked to be in poor health—one tiger in particular appeared severely underweight. It was also quite shocking to see them being fed what looked like dog food, which is clearly not suitable for big cats. A few animals had patchy or thinning fur, and overall the environment felt neglected.
The food available for visitors didn’t help the experience either—everything we ordered was dripping in grease and not enjoyable at all. It felt like an afterthought, with low quality and little care for taste or presentation.
If you’re going purely for the kids’ play area, it might be worth a quick stop. But if you care about animal welfare or are hoping for a quality day out, I’d advise looking elsewhere until real improvements are made.
