Rievaulx Terrace and Temples的点评
点评：First thing to realise about this place is that its not often open, so do check. Pretty much weekends in the warmer half of the year only.
But its nice spot - the views down to the village and the abbey are good. Indeed on our walk Helmsley-Rievaulx the best views are easily found here.
If you are just coming to the site itself, note that the signposts will take you through the woods for ten minutes before putting you out on the far end of the terrace. However, if you just immediately turn right after passing the toilets then you go straight on to the terrace, so you can do that if you aren't so bothered about the woods.
The woods have a games area and a natural play area, if you have kids.
If you are on the wider walk Helmsley-Rievaulx, then note that in order to get the views you will have to enter the paid for area. The footpath to/from the village goes along the hill through woods to the Rievaulx Terrace car park, but you don't get the views unless you enter the terrace itself.
