Don't Visit in the Rain
Blue Falls of Costa Rica的点评
点评：We were so disappointed with our experience here. It was a rainy day and we had driven 2 hours to get there. We only had time for either the Blue Falls or Catarata del Toro. The owner knew this and didn't bother to mention the Falls are not blue when it's raining. Also, you couldn't swim in them because the rain had made them dangerous (normally it is a wonderful place to swim). Also, one trail was closed due to the danger.
We knew none of this when paying $$$ for the hike. Had we been told, we would have certainly chosen the Catarata del Toro. Please don't make the same mistake as us. Choose Catarata del Toro if it's raining. We ran out of time to see it and only saw the small non-blue Blue falls.
That being said, the Blue Falls would have been wonderful in good weather. There are 6 trails to 6 different Blue falls. There are friendly guides stationed at each trail to help you navigate the passageways.
It took us 2 hours to do 2 Falls, but it was disappointing because of the rain. We didn't see a need to do the other 3 open Falls as it was the same view.
I told the lady when we got back that we would have done the Catarata del toro had we been informed of the closure of one of the trails and temporary ban on swimming and clear instead of Blue water . She said that's what happens when it rains...We totally missed out on a great view and wasted our day here. So bummed since it was our last day in Costa Rica and it was a short 5 day trip. At least we had a nice lunch nearby at a mountain Soda.
