Caribou Falls State Wayside的点评
点评：My family and friends used to come up along Lake Superior's North Shore often in the 1970's and 1980's. This was one of our favorite places. Back then, when you got to the falls, you scrambled down a makeshift trail to the base of the falls, and then hauled yourself back up the same way you came. Not for the out of shape.
Now, it is easy peasy. Since 2005, there has been a wooden stairway going down to the falls. It makes it so much easier.
Some of the signage along the trail is misleading, pointing to the SHT, i.e. the Superior Hiking Trail. At one of these signs, someone added a notation "falls" and a small arrow pointing left. Otherwise, look for the wooden stairs.
The trail is not long and not strenuous, other than maybe the stairs for those not in shape. It is *not* handicap accessible.
There is a primitive rest room available by the parking lot.
There are no signs along highway 61 for it. Look for a green sign that says, "Caribou River." They are on both sides of highway 61. The parking lot is next to the river.
