Disappointing Disabled Visit

点评：Currently on two crutches, I decided to go to the Base cafe as my husband would be a while walking the dogs. I managed the walk up the disabled access but it finished on a steep slope which is not great for either going up or down solo.
However, I managed to make it to the cafe. Three members of staff were chatting and I bought a tub of ice cream.
The staff member who offered me the card machine over the counter never asked if I could balance to reach it ok, barely looking at me while I made the transaction. Not one member of staff, offered to carry the tub for me, even though I did say 'I'm not sure if I can carry this', but went on gossiping to each other.
Luckily I can just about manage on one crutch, so hobbled to a table. No one checked if I could sit down safely, but continued to gossip.
It is not enough to have disabled access. You have to be disabled friendly and the staff today were not.
If you are a disabled person and want to visit the Base cafe, make sure you are accompanied. You might be lucky to get assistance from staff, but that was not my experience.
