点评:✈️ This was our second visit and it certainly won’t be our last. For aviation fans of any age, this place is simply outstanding — and the fact that entry is completely free makes it one of the best value days out in the country, full stop.
The depth of history on display is remarkable. You get a genuine, immersive insight into some of the world’s most significant aerial conflicts, and it carries real educational weight without ever feeling dry or inaccessible. It’s the kind of place that stays with you long after you leave.
The only reason I’m holding back a fifth star is the visitor centre café, which I feel is worth flagging for those planning their visit. Pricing is steep — a hot chocolate and a cappuccino came to £7.85, a single chocolate bar was £2, and cake slices were nudging £5. For a family day out, that adds up quickly.
My honest theory? Given that the venue itself is free, the café may well be doing some heavy lifting to help subsidise running costs — and if that’s the case, it’s at least understandable. But for now, my strong advice is to bring your own food and drinks. We did exactly that and it made for a completely stress-free, brilliant day.
Highly recommended — just come prepared!
