点评:I went on this guided tour for Heritage week because of a recommendation from a family member who did it and had no idea of what Maria Edgeworth did for education beforehand. Like me, she was astonished at the story. It was a fascinating tour the 2+ hours flew. This exhibition should be supported on a par with the Famine Museum in Strokestown. The Maria Edgeworths story is so positive. And everything is already there, the history, the centre, the wonderful exhibits. Our guide was incredibly generous with his time and knowledge on the day. I would love to see protection of the remaining built structures linked to the Edgeworths, such as the Bianconi arches in Edgeworthstown and its surrounds.. The whole centre is worthy of gaining something akin to the status of a national museum dedicated to education.
