点评：A short notice choice and decision on a weekday lunchtime for four of us to find an amiable and interesting space with a good value varied selection of tasty food. There are a large number of tables of which probably four fifths were full. The staff are friendly and service was prompt. It has a good feel, high ceilings hung with the powerful collection of figureheads and view to the open paved street/place outside with the former St Luke’s church and the rotation of impressive art works at the front. Today was a large colourful predominantly bold green yellow and blue tapered pieces creating an enticing effect and providing a deliberate appeal to clambering young children out server told us that taken as a whole it represents hop or hop trees, which may be, but it’s a moderate leap from this creation to the traditional notion of the hop orchards of Kent which for very many decades provided summer work for East End families descending to pull down and harvest the long trails of hops for the beer industry.
