Amazing day, beautiful scenery, superb wines.

点评：Didn't really know what to expect as this visit was organised and booked by our hotel and we were the first to be sent there. It is quite far into the countryside so a GPS is essential but when we arrived, what a view! The vines are beautifully laid out with a stunning backdrop of snow covered mountains and really dramatic hills covered in olive groves and vines.
We were greeted by our host who took us for a walk around the vineyard explaining the grape varieties, the olive oil production, Montepulciano wines, the viticulture processes and the family who own the vineyard. What was clear is how important family are to the production and management of the wines and it was informative, interesting and a really great experience.
We headed inside for the cellar tour and tasting which again was interesting and informative. It was really good to see how the grape juice becomes wine and how it is all bottled and labelled.
The tasting was superb. 5 wines with excellent pairings including some incredibly rare mortadella made with donkey meat which was exceptional. The wines were delicious, really drinkable and explained immaculately. It was magic. We also got to try the Riserva as we were well behaved which was glorious.
All 4 of us agreed that this was the best experience of the holiday, it was a brilliant half a day spent in beautiful location with a great family. Unfortunately we couldn't take any wine away with us because of our baggage allowance but I will look it up.
