Do Not Recommend - Especially Deter from Paying for Additional Encounters

点评：Extremely disappointing and absolutely not worth the money. This was very much a “you get what you pay for” experience.
General admission is $25 per person, which mostly gets you the opportunity to see animals from a distance while being rushed along with a rather large group. The overall experience was mediocre at best, but the real issue was the additional “encounters” they charge extra for.
We paid an additional $20 per person for what was advertised as a “one-hour otter encounter.” Calling it a one-hour encounter is incredibly misleading based on what we actually received.
You are placed with the rest of the group while a staff member carries an otter around. When she reaches you, you briefly pet the otter’s belly while she continues holding it, and then she moves on to the next person. That’s essentially the encounter. Our supposed one-hour experience lasted maybe 10 minutes total for the entire group.
Want to actually hold the otter? Take a picture with it without someone else holding it? Have anything resembling the interactive experience you probably imagined when you paid extra for an “otter encounter”? Apparently, that requires the VIP package—which costs around $200.
To be clear, I completely understand that the animals’ safety and well-being should come first and that interactions need to have appropriate limits. That is not the problem. The problem is charging people for a “one-hour otter encounter” when the actual experience is a few minutes of briefly petting an otter as a staff member carries it around the group. If that is what the experience includes, then advertise it accurately and allow customers to decide whether it is worth paying extra for.
If you take anything from this review: do not waste your money on the additional encounters. Had I known beforehand what the “one-hour otter encounter” actually consisted of, I would never have paid for it.
The general experience was underwhelming. The paid encounter was worse. We left feeling disappointed, misled, and genuinely confused about how what we received could reasonably be advertised as a one-hour encounter.
