点评：My husband and I had the absolute pleasure of joining Chris Dyer on three unforgettable trips across Shetland – to Bressay, Papa Stour, and Unst – and we can honestly say each experience was exceptional in its own right.
Trip 1: Croft & Sites of Bressay
This tour was the perfect introduction to life on a Croft. Chris and the incredible passion he has for sustainable farming and caring for his native & heritage breeds of sheep, along with his beautiful Welsh sheep dog, Brin, shined brightly throughout his demonstrations. His deep knowledge and obvious passion for Bressay and crafting made every stop feel meaningful. From his home and Croft to lunch at the local community center to ancient sites and breathtaking scenery Chris gave us a real sense of what life on Bressay was – and still is – like.
Trip 2: Day Trip to Papa Stour
This remote island felt like a step back in time, and Chris was the perfect guide to unlock its secrets. The sea caves, stunning coastal cliffs, and Viking heritage were spectacular, but it was Chris’s insights and storytelling from personal experience and his contributions to the island that made it truly special and forever memorable.
Trip 3: Exploring Unst – Britain’s Northernmost Point
Unst is dramatic, wild, and full of surprises – and Chris made sure we didn’t miss a thing. From walking in the footsteps of Vikings on Easting Beach to petting wild and wooly Shetland ponies and exploring Saxa Vord at the northernmost tip of the UK. This tour was packed with highlights! Chris’s enthusiasm is infectious, and his ability to tailor the day to our interests made it feel personal and special. He handled the logistics seamlessly, which is no small feat when traveling by ferry.
After three trips, we can confidently say that Chris Dyer is truly the best guide we’ve ever had! He’s not only incredibly knowledgeable and charismatic but warm, funny, and genuinely passionate about the history and heritage of the Shetland Islands.
