点评:The Radlett & District museum is situated at the south end of the village just over a quarter of a mile uphill from the railway station.
It is housed in a cabin behind the Village Institute.
On the day of my visit, it was staffed by two enthusiastic volunteers who were most helpful and friendly.
There’s an interesting timeline of events going back many centuries.
For example, in 1795, French prisoners of war helped construct the nearby Aldenham Park reservoir which is now part of a nature reserve.
There was a section about Radlett’s involvement in World War II as well a good selection of local photographs on a laptop.
I liked the display about the Cat & Fiddle pub, which sadly closed in 2019.
I spent around half an hour here browsing the exhibits and talking to the volunteers.
The museum is open between 10-12 on Wednesdays and Saturdays.
Admission is free.
