A truly magical experience

点评：My daughter & her partner bought me the Stargazing & Slumber experience at Twice Brewed Inn in Hexham as a birthday gift. I can honestly say it was an experience I will remember for the rest of my life. We were greeted by incredibly warm & friendly staff who talked us through the itinerary & checked us in. Our room was spotlessly clean, wonderfully comfortable & warm, & well stocked with snacks, water, a kettle & a selection of hot drinks. We enjoyed pre drinks in the bar where the young man who served us was very attentive & knowledgeable about the area, the microbrewery & the evening’s stargazing event. We ate a delicious meal in the restaurant, I had venison casserole & my husband had fish pie, both excellent, then finished with a cheese board each which had wonderful local cheeses, honeycomb, poached pears, chutney & a generous selection of crackers. We then joined the stargazing event which was absolutely magical. It began with a comprehensive lecture by a physicist/cosmologist who was engaging, amusing & incredibly erudite, then sky mapping in the virtual observatory & finally telescopes out in the field where we were guided expertly through the wonders of the universe by one of Kielder Observatory’s astronomers. He skilfully took us on a telescopic journey around the universes, constellations, stars, nebulas & shooting stars that enveloped us out alongside the backdrop of Hadrian’s Wall. We had a wonderful night’s sleep in our room & were served a delicious breakfast in the morning by wonderfully friendly staff. On leaving bought a bottle of Twice Brewed gin to take home as a thank you for my daughter & her partner. Thank you all for such a wonderful stay & experience. We will definitely be back.
