Wonderful visit, slightly spoiled by ticket desk experience

点评：My visit to Rosslyn Chapel was absolutely lovely. It was my second time there, but so many years had passed that it almost felt like the first visit all over again. I truly enjoyed taking my time to observe the incredible level of detail and craftsmanship: every corner reveals something marvellous. It really is a precious gem, rich in history, symbolism, and beauty.
I was also quite touched to learn about the resident cat who lived there and sadly passed away some time ago. Knowing that he was given a little funeral and that there is now some lovely merchandise in his memory was very moving…a small but heartfelt detail that shows how much he was loved ❤️
The only disappointment during the visit was the experience at the ticket desk. I presented my ASVA cards, fully aware that they are accepted here. However, the staff member on duty (an elderly local lady with white/grey hair) initially insisted they were not accepted. Only after I persisted did she took a record book, which clearly showed that many people use these cards, and then asked me to sign it. The situation felt unnecessary and slightly uncomfortable, and it did detract a little from an otherwise wonderful visit and made me feel like she was trying to trick me because I am not originally from there.
That said, I would absolutely recommend visiting Rosslyn Chapel. It is a truly unique and fascinating place, and well worth the trip.
