点评:What a special little place this is. We have been meaning to visit for years and finally reached our destination. I didn’t research too hard before visiting as it can spoil the discovery element when you’re actually there, but no need to swat up as there is endless information in every inch of the place, whether starting in the visitors centre or listening to a guide inside the chapel. Hats off to the guides who repeatedly have to remind most people that they can’t take photos inside the chapel. That must get tiresome despite all the signs dotted around the place.
I loved how the exterior walls hinted at the next chapter of the place before it was finished. You can see clearly where it was meant to go but never did, which adds to its mystery. I won’t mention the interior as it needs to be seen really. I thought the leaker given was perfect for spotting the highlights inside and just enough time to see each example in the hour and a half time slot.
A really reflective and thoughtful place to be, set in a lovely village with pleasant walks down to the castle and beyond. Look out for the ancient beehive in the roof 🐝
So glad we made it.
