点评：I was honored to be a part of the rebuild of this structure. My crew and myself worked very carefully and with the upmost attn. to detail to complete this structure. All of the timbers were provided by Hull Oaks mill in Monroe, OR. It was part of the contract to have Hull Oaks cut and provide timbers it being one of the last steam powered mills left that could cut such massive timbers along with the historic value of the project. I had the opportunity to visit the mill before the project was underway. That was an experience in itself. My crew was top of the line to say the least. We put a lot of pride in this project to assure it came out perfect. We also had to reuse all steel hardware that was obviously made by hand back in the day. We often spoke about what kind of men first built this bridge and was in awe! Well that's about all I have on this subject for now! If you have a chance to visit this historic place, please keep in mind that crafts such as these needed to build our and keep our history together are fading fast. It takes grit and knowledge to complete this work going! It takes good teachers and young people to listen and learn such a needed craft! Thanks for reading and have a great future!
