Always a lovely cat experience
Bedford Cat Cafe的点评
点评：This is our absolute go-to place in Bedford. The cafe is light and airy and doesn't feel too cramped, even when fully booked, with lots of space to the rear of the cafe which is always calmer and quieter.
The cats are the main attraction but, being living, breathing cats, they can sometimes be asleep or just don't want to interact with people. They're cats! Some cats are happy to be gently stroked while asleep, whereas others aren't, but there are guides on each table explaining about each cat and the staff are very approachable if you want to ask more information. Sometimes all the cats are playful and awake and up for coming over to you for cuddles. Other times they're asleep or chilling out. They're cats! But there will always be some cats around looking to play or ask you for cuddles.
The food and drink are absolutely fine for a cafe (although I'd say definitely have some desserts) with a good range of vegetarian and vegan options. The staff are also knowledgeable regarding allergies and can make suitable food and drink recommendations.
The owners are very knowledgeable about the cats in their care, and cats in general, and are always happy to answer questions. It's very clear they care very deeply for their cats and will prioritise their cats' welfare at all times.
Although they do walk-ins, these tend to fill up fast on the day. I'd always recommend booking in advance if you can, and definitely during school holidays.
Because of the conditions placed on the cafe by the council regarding animal welfare, there are a few very straightforward rules in place which are made very clear before booking online, during the booking process and in the confirmation email sent after booking. Please do read and understand these in advance because, as I said before, the cats' welfare is absolute priority and these rules can't be broken or bent if a visitor hasn't fully read or understood them.
A visit to Bedford Cat Cafe is always fun and we always feel like everything's alright with the world afterwards. Go and sit with Virgil and watch the world go by with a coffee, or throw mice for Mouse, which is her absolute favourite game. And if Waffle comes over to you for a cuddle, you are officially King/Queen of the Cats for the day and have all the associated bragging rights.
