点评:Although we had a lovely time in the actual park with the animals, including having such a laugh with the emus and Reuben the cockatoo (both made my daughters laugh so much so I appreciated that), I was very disappointed with the animal feeding experience. I paid £85 and this was money I don’t really have but because my daughter had had bad news this week and I just wanted to see a little glimmer of happiness for the day and she absolutely adores animals, I paid it.
Firstly, the lemurs were absolutely adorable. They looked in great condition and very friendly and happy. However, my daughters were handed a very small bowl of grapes and banana. The size you’d give a toddler for a snack. Within 5 minutes of entering the enclosure, the lemurs had finished their food and we were left wondering what to do next. The lemurs wandered off, naturally, as it was cold and they just wanted to get up in the trees or the heated part of the enclosure. But it got awkward very quickly as we were kind of just standing there waiting on another part of the experience or what we could do next. There was no “educational” aspect to it at all. Just silence. So I broke the silence by starting to ask some questions in order to help my kids get some more out of it. I asked what they ate in general and the answer was fruit and veg. Then I had to think of another question and ask my kids if they had any but by this stage, it was just getting awkward and I could see it in their faces. I asked about breeding and yes, that could happen. It just kind of tapered off at around 15 minutes in and I was looking to leave due to feeling so awkward and nothing else happening, which we did as we didn’t know what else to do as I was the one trying to engage everyone and the feeding had finished within 5 minutes. I am feeling really sick spending that much money on a 5 minute feeding experience and me doing the work of engagement and having to leave early as we were kind of just standing there with the lemurs having gone off. I would ask for a refund but I don’t think that would happen. The best part was definitely the animals and the joy they brought to my kids but I also did worry about the kookaburra, as I only saw one? I’m sure they’re sociable birds? Perhaps someone could inform me more about this? Not a huge fan of birds in cages but I know some birds may have been rescues? I have added a photos of the animals as they were beautiful.
