查茨沃斯庄园的点评
点评：We booked online and paid £31.81 each (it is dearer at the weekend, but slightly cheaper booked in advance), which gave us access to the house, gardens and petting area, plus free car parking. We spent at least 5 hours …first going round the house where we were a little disappointed with the lack of information…just an information board in most rooms . The theme was very much on the horticultural side of things…so more about flowers than the actual history of the house. I suppose we could have hired a multimedia guide or bought a guide book which might of helped? The gardens were lovely to walk around, although it was disappointing to see the cascade devoid of water.
We found the day to be quite expensive as we had to have several coffee/food stops and coffee was £4.25……so coffee and cake for two was £20…..and then there was lunch!!
We went on a Saturday and the house was very busy…..in fact so busy at times that we were just shuffling through the rooms!
The Toilets by the courtyard were very poor…..only three in the ladies and one of those didn’t have a door lock on!
We did pop into the farm shop on the way out too.
