Eyam Museum的点评
点评：We already knew the story of Eyam, so went in interested. This is a small museum with static displays to read, a looping video, and a “find the rats” activity for kids. Won’t take more than an hour and there’s easy parking across the street. Worth it to honor the sacrifice these families intentionally made to save others’ lives.
Should a curator or advisory board be seeking to improve the visitor experience, I suggest they consider modifying the immersive approach used in the Titanic exhibit. That would involve giving each visitor a card listing their imagined Eyam 1665 identity, profession, and family members and the instruction to look out especially for how that individual fared. Something like that could deepen interest and empathy for those less familiar with what occurred here. Also, the shop should sell copies of Geraldine Brooks’ novel about the event, Year of Wonders.
