Excellent Company for Camel Safaris

点评：There are many many camel safaris in Pushkar, however this was recommended by my driver/tour guide Jagjeet, who knows the ropes as he does repeat trips here. I paid 6000 rupees (about £60) but it was definitely worth it. From Pushkar you can either ride a camel or take a camel drawn cart into the desert. I chose the latter as I’ve ridden a camel on several occasions. You are taken from Pushkar into the desert. There’s a place as you enter the desert where you can hire traditional dress for a photo shoot (price between 500-1000 rupees) - I got roped into it but it was a laugh! The camel then stops at a place serving drinks to allow you to take photographs of the sunset in the desert. You then proceed to the camp for the night. Here there is a choice of tents or a bungalow - both have plumbed loos and showers. I chose the tent. Before dinner there is then a display of local folklore including dancers, local musicians and a fire eater! A fire blazes to keep you warm. Be warned the desert gets quite cold at night so dress appropriately - bring a jacket or a sweatshirt. Dinner was tasty - vegetarian but it was good. After spending the night in the tent you are then offered a traditional Indian breakfast before taking a camel cart back to the base in Pushkar. I really enjoyed the experience - the staff were really friendly and helpful and made it a really good experience. Also don’t forget to take some smaller notes (50 and 100 rupees) because as with most places in India the performers and staff are grateful for a tip.
I would certainly recommend this trip if you are in Pushkar. My driver said that the experience in Pushkar is as good if not better than Jaisalmar. As a plus Pushkar is also situated on a lake like Udiapur but isn’t as busy and has a really chilled laid back atmosphere. I believe the same company also offer other services such as Jeep safaris too.
I would certainly recommend this trip if you are in Pushkar. My driver said that the experience in Pushkar is as good if not better than Jaisalmar. As a plus Pushkar is also situated on a lake like Udiapur but isn’t as busy and has a really chilled laid back atmosphere.
