Nice few hours but not an overall great experience
伯明翰野生动物保护区的点评
点评：Animal welfare was brilliant and the tickets felt worth the money. We managed to spend 4 hours here and the red panda and komodo dragon were definitely the highlights. I think it can be a great trip if you manage your expectations.
Unfortunately, unlike other wildlife parks & zoos, staff were not particularly friendly (except for the staff in the cafe who were lovely!). At the entrance, staff seemed to purposefully ignore us before finally standing up to see to us and we were not met with any smiles or well wishes. When we had to revisit later for plasters from their first aid box, they were completely uninterested again and didn't ask a single question about why my friend's hand was bleeding. Lynx feeding was at 12:30 and we waited at the enclosure opposite the staff hut (and where Nala the lynx was) for around 20 mins. Staff saw us waiting but left us waiting at the wrong side - he walked right past us without a word and fed her on the complete other side of the enclosure so we ended up missing it. I can't understand why he wouldn't just say something - even if just aloud in general or to the lynx, we would have followed but he said nothing!
We also saw what appeared to be cockroaches crawling across the viewing area of the komodo dragon and a dead one on the floor of the reptile house (neither in a tank or enclosure but on the floor of where visitors were walking). Hopefully just large beetles (?) but they did look like cockroaches!
Map is also pretty outdated and a bit confusing.
Despite this, I would come back again as it was amazing to see the animals and they seemed really happy.

地图也相当过时，有点混乱。
尽管如此，我还是会再来的，因为看到这些动物真是太棒了，它们看起来真的很开心。
