点评:I visited Yogyakarta with my Uncle for the first time and on the day we visited the Prambanan Temples, our driver asked us if we wanted to visit Ratu Boko. We decided to come here because I had heard about Ratu Boko and watched travel Vlog videos on this place which were shot before the Covid-19 pandemic. In the past, hordes of tourists and local visitors came here to have their photos taken at sunset with the glorious 'sunset gate'. Nowadays, this place closes at 5.30pm while the sunset happens between 5.45 to 6pm. In fact, at 5.15pm, the security guards will start chasing all visitors out of the place! What a SHAME!!!
Overseas visitors have to pay USD25 per person to enter this place. Local visitors pay only a fraction of the price. Honestly, besides the 'sunset gate', there is nothing much to see here! This was supposedly a palace but only their foundation stones of all the buildings remain on this site. If you climb up to the highest point on the hill, you can see the city of Jogja and part of the Prambanan temples on a clear day. However, it is definitely NOT worth paying USD25 for this. This place is a real disappointment!!! Don't bother coming here!
