Bucket List Course! Great experience!

点评：Playing on an Open Championship course was on my bucket list, and I was able to book at Carnoustie on a recent trip to Scotland.
It was a great experience, right from the check in. The staff there were extremely welcoming, friendly and helpful and have a desire to ensure your experience is a great one. At check-in, they then took me for a walk around the grounds to show me the various areas I could practice at, and set me up with a locker in the locker room.
Very nice facilities overall.
As for the golf itself, the course was being set up for the Senior Open in a few weeks and so was very tough. I had the full Scottish golf experience weather wise, with sunny and hot periods, and cold and rainy periods, as well as a strong wind consistently throughout. Definitely recommend booking a caddie to help you on the course. My caddie, Stuart, was fantastic. He shared great insights and stories about the course, as well as helping with tips on course management and reading the greens. To score well, you need to hit the fairways though, I spent way too much time in the bunkers, although that was a fun experience as well.
Yes, it can be an expensive day, but for me it was worth every penny for a unique and fun golf experience.
