We knew we would want to revisit so planned to get the annual pass plus
As English heritage members we should have got a 15 % discount on this when paying at the door
However the guy at the museum had no clue and kept saying it didn't apply to the passes which it does
No signal on phones to show him the text online so after 10+ minutes discussing with him we gave up and
In the end with fidgety children on a freezing cold day we just paid the full price to get in
Looking again now we are home and it seems we should have got a discount on our tickets so we're very dissatisfied because it's a lot of money to overpay for what we did today!
I think it's important staff know what applies and I think we should be offered the discount retrospectively or an upgrade from pass to pass plus
Also we received no email when registering the tickets at the till so other than a paper ticket - easy to loose we have no proof of our purchase which I'm not happy about either
