点评：I am deeply disappointed with my experience with Sukia Travel. I paid €3000 for what was sold to me as a “dream volunteering trip,” but the reality was far from what was promised.
At the farm, the host was absent for half my stay, the activities described in the official programme — such as trail maintenance, camera-trap setup, tubing, and waterfalls — never happened, and I often had nothing meaningful to do. At the sea turtle project, the community activities that were also highlighted to me when booking — like mangrove reforestation, English club with schoolchildren, or traditional cooking workshops — never happened either. Instead, we were asked to do daily cooking, heavy gardening in the rain, and constant cleaning — in an unfriendly atmosphere. All these activities were obviously a central part of my motivation to book this trip, yet they simply did not exist in reality.
What shocked me most was the lack of potable water. The “solution” was to boil visibly dirty tap water, which is unsafe. I had no choice but to buy bottled water myself. Even the basics mentioned in Sukia’s own document, such as unlimited fruit and safe drinking water, were not provided. Fruits were strictly rationed and only available at breakfast.
In total, only about one third of the trip matched what was sold to me. Instead of the life-changing experience I was promised, I spent two frustrating weeks doing tasks that were never mentioned, in conditions that were mostly questionable.
I have shared all evidence with Sukia Travel, but so far I haven't received any response for almost a week. For future travelers, be cautious: your next dream trip with Sukia may not exist and could be far from what is promised.
