RSPB Weymouth Wetlands at Radipole Lake Nature Reserve的点评
点评：A cold welcome. On entry, my husband used the toilet that had a sign on it stating only café customers could use, which we intended to use on return from our walk around the nature reserve. However, while my husband was in the toilet, a female member of staff promptly questioned me if we were RSPB members and scolded me like a naughty school girl that we shouldn't be using it if we weren't. I explained that we were intending to use the café and she backed down.
The walk itself was nice but disappointing due to the lack of open water areas. We felt this was somewhat mis-advertised from what we had read/seen online. The amount of litter around was disheartening. We did see some wildlife, not a huge amount of birds, which we appreciate is out of the reserve's control, but we did see a variety of different bugs, butterflies and and a hairy caterpillar. Friendly, regular visitors were very helpful in identifying the wildlife and suggesting good photography spots.
On return to the café, the female member of staff did try to make small talk about what we had seen, but we didn't feel particularly responsive after the initial reception. We enjoyed our refreshments in the café by the large viewing window and went on our way. We won't be returning.
