Drum Manor Forest Park Camping and Caravan site is a cost effective site but unmanaged, noisy and chaotic

点评：We recently stayed at Drum Manor Forest Park Campsite and had quite a mixed experience. On the positive side, it’s a relatively inexpensive place to camp and set in a beautiful forest with lots of walking trails (though some of them were unfortunately taped off during our visit). It’s also in a great location for exploring Northern Ireland, with easy access to places like Derry, Belfast, and the Giant’s Causeway.
When we arrived, the bathroom was flooded, but thankfully that was fixed quickly. The biggest problem is that the site is completely unmanaged. There’s no reception or staff presence, and when we tried to raise a concern, we were told the phone lines weren’t open. The campsite operates on a first-come, first-served basis with no allocated pitches, which can lead to unnecessary frustration. For example, we left our tent to visit Derry and returned to find that someone had taken our parking spot and pitched their tent right next to us.
The facilities also leave something to be desired. Toilets and showers are only cleaned once a day, which just isn’t enough when the site is busy. Noise was another major issue; there were large family gatherings, loud adults, and kids running around having water fights well into the evening. With no staff around, there was no one to enforce any kind of noise control, so it often felt chaotic.
While the natural surroundings and location are definite highlights, the lack of site management and basic organisation made for a frustrating and at times unpleasant experience.
