Glorious Day, Well Looked After Gardens and Wood

点评：I checked the website before visiting these gardens, but it appears I didn't check properly as the gardens were closed. I believe they are only open a couple of days in the week, there is a honesty box but cash is required.
Turned up on a Friday after a long drive and noticed they were closed, drove in anyway and noticed other vehicles parked. The owners appeared from the house looking splendid dressed up all in their finery as they were off to a wedding. Although they were in a rush, reminiscent of Four Weddings & a funeral, the owner was extremely generous to still allow us to peruse the gardens. He pointed out the areas and gave us a leaflet. Luckily my husband had some cash to pay the owner.
Probably not the best time to visit the gardens but enjoyed the visit all the same. Gardens very well kept and in a lovely setting. Fabulous wooded area with a wonderful tree carving of bears after the honey. The lawn area with flower borders also a beautiful area. Luckily it was a warm September day. May return again probably in the Spring time to enjoy the gardens at their best.
