点评:We spent £120 on a private carriage on the Santa special. We were advised to arrive 25 minutes before departure, but we actually arrived even earlier. We were told to start queuing for a hot chocolate if we wanted one (which we did). We queued for half an hour (!!!) to be told there was none left. Eventually got some made with water as they’d run out of milk. Got onto the train which was nicely decorated. Saw various entertainers, but one of them (won’t shame them) absolutely reeked of BO. The heat of the carriage plus that was quite overwhelming. We were the last train of the day and it very much felt that some of the entertainers had had enough and were ready for home! If I hadn’t spent so much money on it it would almost have been funny it was so bad. Due to the condensation on the windows we couldn’t see anything, not that there was anything to see: if you’ve done the Polar Express before don’t expect that sort of light show/entertainment. There were positives - some of the entertainers were fab, the wine was drinkable and the ginger biscuits were delicious. The kids enjoyed it!
