A nostalgic journey on a steam train.

点评：We visited on their special event - The Night Shift, it was our first visit to this railway. The event was held, obviously, in the evening and the idea was to experience the trains going through the lit stations. We enoyed the journey from Rowsley South along the line all the way to the mainline Matlock Station. There were several trains running, including a goods tran, so we passed at various intrevals along the line. In Matlock there was also a mainline train adjacent to ours which left as we spent a little time in the station. There were refreshments on the train too for the journey. The cafe at Rowsley was very busy as the event was well attended. The carriage next to ours had live music along the way - a mixed blessing - it was good and we enjoyed it but with the music you couldn't hear the chugging of the steam train at all. An ejoyable evening though with the nostalgia of the steam train pulling the carriages.
