AVOID - No Santa gifts given - no response to emails!

点评：We visited on 30th November. The car park was a complete mud pit and we got told to park over a huge puddle next to the verge and we were rammed in with another car tightly packed behind us as soon as we stopped so we could not access our boot - for coats/walking aids etc easily. If you plan on going in the winter / autumn take welly boots.
We booked in to see Santa as soon as we arrived. We waited a long time which is fine as usually its worth it but the children only got a certificate to say they were on the nice list plus a very tiny sticker. There were zero gifts and I mean nothing but a gold envelope with a printed card saying your on the nice list plus a tiny sticker. Our youngest was gutted. I have emailed the castle twice, as soon as we got home and about a week later, I was wondering if there had been a mistake or something? Not being greedy but £24 for that is ridiculous and is not a gift in my eyes. I'm being ignored by powderham. Some communication is better than none so at this point they obviously charged £24 for printed paper and they are in it to take your money. If you value your children childhood, their memories and the magic of Christmas (and your hard-earned money) please take your children elsewhere to see Father Christmas.
Santa aside the lights were pretty, it was well spread out with plenty to see. I feel there should have been many more tables for families to sit after buying their food however, as there simply was not enough for everyone to sit and eat.
The staff on the whole where cheerful and helpful apart from the women in the entrance of the castle who ripped the drink from my 7 year old hand and threw it in the bin by her. It was a shock to see such aggression we left the castle shortly after this. She didn't want to ask if she had finished or if she wanted to finish it to wait in the foyer. Nope, just grabbed it from her hand and threw it in the bin beside her and barked no drinks taken inside (yeah okay, we can manage that that's absolutely fair, but we could have waited for her to finish the tiny drop she had left without the aggressive behaviour)
The animals were a surprise and the children enjoyed seeing lambs in Christmas jumpers.
In summary, if Powerham had retuned my email with an explanation as to why they didn't receive a Santa gift that we paid for I think we would have returned in the summer as my girls enjoyed the castle and the grounds. But due to the lack of customer service I think we will avoid and put it down as a bad experience. We wont be returning next Christmas.
This place is lacking. If you care about your kids don't bring them here to see Santa it will ruin it for them.
