My wife and I did a wonderful 2-tank dive on Feb 5 2024 with Chad. The first stop was at “Da Plane” featuring a wall dive plus two wrecks. The first wreck was a single-engine light-plane. The second wreck was a sailboat. From there we made our way along the reef to the wall and its drop-off into the deep blue abyss. As we swam along the wall we saw lots of fish and even a couple reef sharks. After a surface interval, the second dive was on a reef with lots of fish and some cool cave-like tubes you could easily swim through. This was a really special experience with just us two plus Chad diving with us as the guide/instructor. The dive was well worth the effort of a long car ride from North Palmetto Point to Cape Eleuthera.
My wife and I loved our first day with Chad so much we signed-up for the “shark interaction” dive two days later. This dive is very different from getting in a cage with Great Whites or fighting-off Tiger Sharks at Tiger Beach. Instead this was a very educational and up-close experience with Caribbean Reef Sharks ranging in size from 3 to 6 feet. It was so interesting to see how they interacted with all the fish around them and their role to clean the ocean from dead and dying fish. It was exciting to see not only the reef sharks but other game fish like Pompano and Amberjack hanging-in close. Of course there were tons of smaller colorful fish mixed-in too. While it was very exciting, it was never scary and I never felt threatened. Once again Chad was a great guide with a ton of knowledge about these sharks. I would highly recommend this dive for anyone’s first shark diving experience.
