点评：Our visit to Blarney Castle was nothing short of enchanting. With a soft Irish rain misting the grounds, it truly felt like we had stepped into a fairytale. The castle itself is incredibly impressive, steeped in history and charm. As you make your way up the winding spiral staircase, plaques and signs along the way offer fascinating insights into its storied past.
A Note for Families:
The spiral stairs are quite narrow, which adds to the authenticity but could be challenging for anyone with claustrophobia. As a parent, I’d advise against bringing a baby or small toddler up the tower. While safety bars are in place, they may not be fully reassuring for very small children. It’s definitely more suitable for kids aged 5 and up who can handle the climb and excitement safely.
Reaching the top is absolutely worth it. The incredible views of the lush Irish countryside are breathtaking and, for us, deeply romantic. It was one of those moments that made us pause, hold hands, and just take it all in.
And then of course, there’s the legendary Blarney Stone! Kissing it was a total thrill. You do have to lean quite far back, assisted by staff, and just when you think you’re close enough, you’ll likely need to stretch that little bit more to reach it. It’s exhilarating and memorable, a must-do moment! Such a rush!
We ended our visit with a walk through the beautiful gardens, which were the perfect, peaceful way to unwind after the climb. The grounds are meticulously kept and bursting with color and life.
Before leaving, I purchased a delicate silver Claddagh ring from the gift shop to commemorate the visit. A keepsake for a memory I’ll always treasure.
