点评:It was a nice day in the Easter holidays, my children and I focused and ready to do something different. "Let's go to the Booth Museum", I said with trepidation, having been recommended it by my sister who, frankly, has extremely different ideas as to what is fun and what is not.
We walked through and into the old building, neither children remotely interested in what they were about to witness. What greeted us was floor to ceiling glass boxes housing every possible animal you can think of, stuffed within an inch of it's now non-existent life. A particular favorite of mine was the enormous taxidermied swan, that loomed over my 3 year old, as she raised her tiny head to see it's beak wide open, seemingly ready to take a bite.
The children humored me and we walked down the columns of dead animals, my 6 year old feigning interest to make sure I knew he was 'having the best day ever'. They soon changed their tune when we reached the Skeleton Room.
If you want to see your children's face light up, show them the skeletons of various monkeys, whales and lions. Somewhat concerned at how invested they both seemed to be with incorrectly guessing which animal was which, I decided to call it a day.
Did the children have nightmares? Yes.
Was it a good time? Absolutely.
