A really fun little museum
Hove Museum of Creativity的点评
点评：Seventy-odd years ago I lived within walking distance of this museum but never visited it. Whyever not? The tone is set by the oddities in the garden - the Jaipur Gate made by Indian craftsmen for a Victorian exhibition in Kensington; and a quirky modern sculpture. Both seem quite out of place in this part of Hove, but both work. Inside there was an odd mixture - a temporary exhibition of circus automata, with a "make your own" workshop for children; a section on the history of Hove; and another on the film pioneers who worked in Brighton and Hove, with examples of their work to watch; a wonderful hotch-pot of childrens' dolls and toys; and more conventional paintings and craftwork - and again it all seemed to work. We learned a lot, and enjoyed ourselves. There is also a good little cafe - and admission is free; unless one opts to make a small donation.
