点评:I booked a day trip with Sani Pass tours out of Underberg and our group had a great guide and day out. This rough road was first driven by a motor vehicle in 1948 and you gain over 1000 meters of elevation in 8 kms. You end up getting “the African massage” especially if you are in the back most seat!
Our guide was very good explaining about the animals, birds and vegetation that is in the park. After border control we entered the kingdom of lesotho and visited a village at the top. The top is unexpectedly flat with many sheep, goats, horses, donkeys and all the Lesotho shepherds wearing traditional blankets and wooly hats. It all looked kinda gangsta and i expected them to start rapping 😊
We visited the church of the good shepherd where the shepherds are given an education which includes learning about God. The tribe danced for us, we ate bread baked in a cast iron kettle over hot embers, then we had curry lunch and Maluti beer next to the highest pub in Africa. We made our way down the mountain afterwards with my lunch bouncing around and me turning a similar shade of green as the mountains 🤢. The only improvement I could suggest is for the roadside trash to be collected, I can’t believe people just litter in a National park.
Great day out.
