兰海德罗克花园酒店的点评
点评：My daughter and I visited on Thursday 3rd April. From being greeted at reception to the second greeting at the gatehouse it was a joy to talk to all the staff. We spoke to Dee for ages and also the blonde lady who was in the gallery but forgive me I can’t recall your name. They were both brilliantly helpful and passionate about sharing information and their love of Lanhydrock House. We had visited years ago during October half term and found it ‘a bit much’ as it was teeming with people. This visit was delightfully quiet and at times we had areas to ourselves! We were able to pore over everything! We really loved the laminated little letters, they brought the family to life. Lanhydrock House has the quintessential Victorian country house kitchens- they are astonishing. We love seeing all the different service areas and imagining the people from all those years ago who kept the house running like a well oiled machine. The children’s part of house felt warm and homely , easy to imagine those siblings there and then the more formal areas cumulating in the marvellous gallery. The ceiling has been recently restored and it is no understatement to say it took our breath away. To have restored that work or art back to full glory is the National Trust at its best and finest. It was a delight to walk beneath it looking up at all the now easily identifiable scenes and creatures. Don’t miss the little stained glass panel at the end of the room on the right hand side!
We ate lunch and had tea and cake mid afternoon. Browsed the book barn and gift shop and left near closing with enormous smiles on our faces- it was just starting to rain so we took advantage of the little electric cart to whizz us back up to the top and avoided getting too soaked! We spent five hours in there! A new PB for us ‘housebothering’ hahaha. Magnificent house and magnificent day out.Thank you

我们吃了午饭，下午喝了茶，吃了蛋糕。逛了逛书库和礼品店，快要关门的时候，我们满脸笑容地离开了——天刚下起雨来，所以我们乘着小电瓶车快速回到了顶楼，才没有被淋得浑身湿透！我们在里面待了五个小时！对于我们这些“家务活”来说，这又是一个新纪录，哈哈哈。房子真漂亮，一天的旅程也精彩纷呈。谢谢
